WASHING MACHINES
One of the first questions you should ask yourself before you decide on your new washing machine is exactly what you need from your machine. Are you just a couple or a family using it once or twice a day or perhaps on your own. Full size or slim line European style front loader with 5 to 6kg wash capacity or a 9kg American style top loader. This will determine the size and quality of the machine to be chosen.
As we use hot wash programmes for white cotton, and a quick wash option for lightly soiled clothes, you might want special functions like a pre-wash, for stubborn stains, or an extra rinse cycle which is ideal for anyone who is sensitive to detergents. Hand-wash garments can often go in on a delicate or wool cycle, and some machines have an easy-care wash programme with reduced spin to make sure acrylics keep their shape.
A good spin cycle is important with 1000 or 1200 ideal, as it will affect how long garments take to DRY dry. Spin performance is rated from A to G with “A” as the most efficient and “G” the least.
TUMBLE DRYERS
With tumble dryers, you can choose between a venting dryer or a condenser. Typical load is 6kg. The venting dryer has a hose that hangs out of a window, or is ducted through an outside wall. A condenser can be placed anywhere you have an electric socket. The water can be retained within an internal container and used as excellent lime scale free water source for use in your iron or simply drained away. With the aide of a stacking kit it can be stacked above a washing machine
WASHER DRYERS
As described above regarding washing machines except that the machine contains a drying function. Due to the internal drum being used for washing it is smaller than the drum used in a conventional dryer therefore only half the wash load can be dried i.e. only 2.5kg. It is ideal where space is at a premium.
